The clock speeds operates lower than the base speed when it's boost is disabled but as soon as I enable turbo boost, the clock speeds keep on spiking to 4.2 GHz with low CPU Utilisation. I even monitored the clock speeds on idle when turbo boost is enabled/disabled. The difference is waaaaaay too much for my liking. I know many of you will say that's okay and that processor is built for 105☌ max operating temperature but it shouldn't really go close to that when playing games. For example, when I'm playing Warzone, the CPU doesn't go over 75☌-80☌ when the boost is disabled but as soon as I enable the turbo boost option, it hovers around 100☌. Though there's very minimal impact on FPS when boost is enabled/disabled, the temperature difference is MASSIVE. To test this difference more, I played a few games with the boost enabled/disabled.

However, when boost is enabled, the CPU temperature goes over 50☌ despite the CPU Utilisation being less than 5%.

When boost is disabled, it stays around 34-39☌ on idle. I saw a massive difference in the temperatures when the turbo boost option is disabled and the max clock speed is capped at 2.9 GHz. So I decided to take a look at the temperatures under idle and stress test today. I bought this device after reading lots of good things about its thermals and performance. I have an HP Omen 15 (2020) with Ryzen 7 4800H and RTX 2060.
